My Blogging Routine

Hello! Today I thought I would share with you my routine for writing a post from beginning to end. If you are a blogger like me you will probably relate and if you are a reader you will get a view of what most of us bloggers go through before we hit publish!

The first thing I will always do is to brainstorm for post ideas. I jot down everything that comes to mind and then proceed to planning. I have this notebook that I use for blogging and I turned some pages into a monthly planner. Yes, it took me a long time to do but I really enjoyed doing it, although I would recommend just buying a diary instead of doing this! After I allocate a date for all the posts, I will usually write notes about each post. These notes usually include the things I will need for the photos like products and props, how I'm going to lay out the post and other notes about the content of that post like info about the items or just a lists of points I need to remember to write.

Now I move on to the photo taking part, which is by far my favourite. I collect everything that I need (here is when the notes come in handy) and then snap away. I try to take photos for different posts in the same day so I will find some ready for another time. I will then upload them to my computer to edit them. Currently I use Picmonkey to edit my photos. It is a free online site which I definitely recommend to anyone who doesn't want to splash out on Photoshop.

I will now go ahead and start writing the post and upload the photos. I don't know why but I can never get myself to write before having some kind of image in the the writing area. This is also the point where I decide that I don't like the photos and I will go back to edit them. (Please tell me that I'm not the only one!) When I am finally happy I will begin to write. I usually leave all the things I need to get reference from in front of me. While I am writing I love to listen to a Spotify playlist with a nice cup of green tea. I feel like this gets me in the mood for writing. After writing I will go over the text to check for typos and to arrange the sentences. I will then schedule the post and then move on to scheduling some tweets that include the link (If I don't do this I will most probably forget to share the post!)

So there you have it, my blogging routine. If you are interested, check out my list of Free and Useful Resources For Every Blogger.

Do you have a blogging routine?
